These four apply to every chart and table on the page. Party-specific views (seat lists, vote-share trends, turncoats) have their own party picker right where they're used, since a single global party filter would only make sense for some of them.
01
Party performance
Seats won per party each election, alongside the seat-share vs vote-share gap — the clearest way to show a non-technical audience how first-past-the-post rewards or punishes a party relative to its actual vote pull.
Seats won by party, each election
Filtered to seats matching your current selection above.
Statewide vote share, by party
% of all votes polled statewide, each election — the underlying strength behind the seat count. A party that contests fewer seats concentrates its votes there, so its statewide share can look lower than a rival's even while winning far more seats — hover a point to see how many seats each party actually contested.
02
Seat position, by party
Pick a party to get their pitch-ready list: seats to defend, seats in contention, and seats to target next. Everything below reacts to this one selector.

05
Is a seat getting easier or harder?
For the selected party, this tracks their vote share in every seat they contested, election over election — even seats they didn't win. Rising = the seat is opening up. Falling = ground is being lost.
Top 25 improving seats for —
Vote-share change, last two elections (needs the party to have contested both years). Hover a bar for the biggest opposite-moving party in that seat.
Top 25 declining seats for —
Vote-share change, last two elections. Hover a bar for the biggest opposite-moving party in that seat.
Where is the movement coming from — —?
For each seat, we pair this party's vote-share swing across the last two elections with whichever other tracked party moved the most in the opposite direction in that same seat. It's a strong correlation signal, not a confirmed vote transfer — some movement can come from new entrants, NOTA, or smaller parties not tracked here (we track —). If a seat's decline is really split across two winning parties, only the larger mover gets identified as the counterpart — the true picture in that seat may be more multi-way than these numbers suggest.
