What the report was built to answer

A constituency-level result tells a campaign whether it won or lost — it doesn't tell you where the fight was actually won or lost within the constituency. This report was generated to answer a more specific question: booth by booth, where did the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party's vote share genuinely move between the two elections, and by how much?

How the analysis was run

The report pulls both elections' official ECI booth-level results for AC 356, matches booths across the two cycles despite any boundary or numbering changes between them, and calculates the vote share difference for the specified party at each matched booth. The output is a single chart ranking every booth by swing — no manual matching, no spreadsheet reconciliation.

What this level of detail enables

With a booth-ranked swing chart in hand, a campaign can immediately separate three kinds of booths: those that swung strongly in their favour (worth understanding and replicating), those that swung against them (early-warning booths needing ground attention), and those that stayed flat (lower priority for a targeted push). That triage is only possible at booth-level resolution — a constituency-wide swing number can't support it.

The underlying data problem this solves

Before a report like this can exist, booths need to be correctly matched across two separate ECI datasets that may use different numbering or have undergone delimitation-related changes between election cycles. Getting that matching wrong silently produces a wrong swing number for the affected booths — which is why this step is automated rather than left to manual spreadsheet work.
