What "booth strength" means

Where a swing report shows movement between two elections, a booth strength report shows a party or candidate's current standing — ranking every booth in the constituency by how strong that party's position is, typically on an A-to-D scale. It answers a different question from swing: not "where did things change," but "where do we stand right now."

Why campaigns need both, not just one

A booth that's currently weak (D-grade strength) but trending upward (positive swing) needs a different ground strategy than a booth that's currently strong (A-grade) but trending downward. Strength alone tells you where you stand; swing alone tells you which direction you're moving. Reading them together is what turns a report into an actual resource-allocation decision.

How the ranking was built

The report pulls official ECI booth-level results for AC 389, calculates the specified party's vote share at each booth, and ranks every booth into strength bands based on that share relative to the constituency's overall pattern. The output is a single ranked list — no manual booth-by-booth calculation required.

What this enables on the ground

With booths ranked A to D, a campaign can direct scarce ground resources — Karyakarta visits, local events, targeted outreach — toward the booths where the marginal effort matters most, rather than spreading effort evenly across a constituency where booths differ enormously in how contested they actually are.
